North American Vasa

We are back to bring another exciting year of xc ski instruction, and fun on the snow, to the young people in the Grand Traverse Area!
Please SHARE this information with family and friends who may be interested (all area kids welcome... both tcaps and non-tcaps).

This registration is for our 2 youth programs:
Nordic Rocks for K-5 grades (Dec. 10 - Feb. 25); and
Nordic Flyers for 6-8 grades (Jan. 8 - Feb 28)

Register at www.tcaps.net/leap
Both tcaps and non-tcaps students may register here.

Coaching and Support Volunteers needed! It's a lot of fun, and very rewarding. If you've never coached xc ski before, no problem! We have training. Including a CXC Coaches training Sat. Oct 27 (see our Events page).
For Info on Coach Volunteer opportunities, contact Gary Faria at gfaria10@msn.com

For more information on these and other programs, see www.vasaskiclub.org

To our VSC Community, we are looking for some nordic-loving souls who are interested in sharing their xc spirit in our various club programs. If you have coached before, we want you back! If you have never coached before, no problem... we will train you! Our youth programs are growing, both at the elementary and middle school level. We also sponsor the popular and family friendly WeSki in January. Please consider joining in this year in a coaching role. For more information on the various opportunities, please contact Gary Faria at gfaria10@msn.com.

Additionally, the timing is perfect to sign up for our CXC Coaching Clinic on Saturday, October 27 -- free to VSC coaches. See our Events page for more information. Thank you!

Register for the Vasa on Monday before midnight to avoid the price increase on Tuesday October 16th.

CXC Skiing
Build on your skills from last week's video by adding poles to your ski walking! You'll want to use poles that are 5-10cm shorter than your classic poles. Pay attention to make sure you're taking long strides, getting good hip rotation, and keeping your shoulders and low back relaxed.
