Back by popular demand! Learn more about Wings of Wonder and their raptor rehabilitation program and meet live birds of prey like owls, falcons and hawks.

11am: Get Up! On Mountain Run

Take the challenge to run, walk, climb or crawl to the top of Buck, slush or shine! Medals for all finishers. Top male and female winners receive a 2017-18 Season Pass! $20 per person, includes March on the Mountain t-shirt.

Crystal Mountain – Mardi Gras on the Mountain – March 3 – 4, 2017


Let the good times roll at Crystal Mountain this Mardi Gras Weekend! We’ve got fun for everyone, with the costume contest, live DJ spinning tunes, the Mardi Gras Rail Jam, and of course beads, beads, and more beads!

Online registration is available for the Mardi Gras Rail Jam. Slopeside registration available for all other events.

Beads, Beads & More Beads

Keep your eye out, beads are everywhere! Collect all you can with games throughout the day, costume contest and scavenger hunt on the mountain. Houseguests receive their first set of beads upon check-in. Additional beads available for purchase at the Mardi Gras Tent, while supplies last.

Dancing, bead contest, face painting, Glitter Tattoos and more! Purchase your Mardi Gras necessities at the slopeside Mardi Gras Shop.

2pm: Stylin’ on the Slopes Costume Contest

Strut your creative Mardi Gras purple, gold and green costumes on the slopes! Participants receive beads for creativity and enthusiasm. Meet at the Lodge slopeside tent at 2pm for judging. Top adult male and female will be crowned King/Queen of the Mountain and win a 2017-18 Season Pass!

3pm – Mardi Gras Rail Jam

Open to both Skiers and Snowboarders. Prizes awarded to top 3 in each division. Top overall male and female win a 2017/18 season pass. $20 per person includes March on the Mountain t-shirt. We’ll have giveaways, swag and more!

Featuring the Feral Cats! Playing a nice mix of early rock and roll, to blues, to folk. From Dylan to Elvis, they’ll bring their own scraps of familiar Americana to you.

7-8pm: Cardboard Classic Registration

Completed sled and all participants must be present to register. The sledding surface of your sled must be standard brown cardboard or standard silver duct tape. Registration to be held slopeside on the lodge deck.

Build a cardboard sled using only standard cardboard and duct tape. All sleds participating in the competition must be pre-registered.

Once registered, the cardboard sleds and riders will make their way up the mountain for a race like no other. All sleds and participants must be present at registration.

Their wide variety of songs offers a little something for everyone; ranging from oldies, to current top 40 hits, classic rock to smooth R&B, country to high energy dance music, and everything in between.

Shamrock Search – Find a numbered shamrock and return it to the Park at Water’s Edge for a prize!

Pot of Gold Challenge – Enter your best guess to win a Pot of Gold. Visit the Park at Water’s Edge for details.

Look for the Leprechaun – The leaping Leprechaun comes just once a year. Find him for good luck and an on hill photo!

4pm – 11pm: Green Beer Party at the Vista Lounge

9:30am – 1:30am: Event Registration

Slope side registration available for the Kayak on the Snow Race and the Slush Cup. Participants must be present to register. See rules for event age requirements. Parent signature required for children 17 and under.

11am: Kayak on the Snow Race

Compete for the best time kayaking on the snow! Equipment provided. The use of personal equipment is prohibited. Participants must be at least 8 years old. Registration required.

1pm: Celtic Dance

Enjoy a unique slopeside show of Dair2Treble Irish & Interpretive Dance Troupe. Directed by Rose Vanderley. Showcasing traditional Irish dancing steps!

2pm: Slush Cup

Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail – Sips, Chips and Dips – March 18, 2017

Join the casual fun on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm as participating wineries pair everyday snacks with Leelanau wine.

This is a fantastic way to try lots of your favorite munchies and see how great they taste when complemented by wine. Tickets are $10 per person and include a souvenir wine glass, a snack-and-wine pairing at each of 19 participating wineries and a $5 donation to help save the Leland Harbor. Enjoy the yummy fun!

Black Star Farms of  Suttons Bay is serving Queso Fundido Dip with Great Lakes Seasoned Tortilla chips paired with Apple Cherry Cider.

L. Mawby of Suttons Bay is serving Great Lakes Wave Potato Chips with Homemade French Onion Dip from Natural Northern paired with Fresh Spring Sipper, M. Lawrence Green Sparkling Wine. (And a little luck whether you’re Irish or not…. buy 5 bottles of Green, get one 1 free!)

Chateau De Leelanau of Suttons Bay is serving House-made Chili con Queso and Great Lakes Tortilla Chips paired with a brand new 2016 Pinot Noir Rose’.

Boathouse Vineyards of Lake Leelanau is serving with either Great Lakes Buffalo Wing Potato Chips or Great Lakes Tortilla Chips and a Slightly Spicy Mango Salsa paired with a BEST IN CLASS Semi-Sweet Riesling

French Valley Vineyard and Bistro of Suttons Bay is serving Trempette à L’oignon Francaise (an Onion Dip) with Great Lakes Original Chips paired with a 2011 Merlot. 

Verterra Winery of Leland is serving BlueBird Ranch Dressing and Great Lakes Wave Potato Chips paired with Chaos Red Cuvée or Verterra Salsa and Great Lakes Seasoned Tortilla Chips, paired with Chaos White.

Laurentide Winery of Lake Leelanau is serving Mike’s Famous Bean Dip and Great Lakes Tortilla Chips paired with Pinot Gris.
