Andre Villoch – Music on the Mountain – The Homestead – July 3, 2012

The Homestead is proud to welcome back a longtime friend and favorite, Andre Villoch.  Famed for his dynamic vocal range and vivacious onstage wit and charm, Andre is authentic, soulful and gritty.  He’s known for his lyrical prowess by delivering satisfying melodies about life, love and the allure of music.  With roots in opera, pop, gospel bluegrass and folk, his songs bear the mark of rich heritage of musical inspiration.

This summer-long series of concerts will be held at the top of Bay Mountain. Mingle with old friends and new during the happy hour. Purchase one or more tickets in the 50/50 raffle. You could win half of the money and you will help our lakeshore, as the other half will be donated to Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear. This year’s concert schedule is:

Leelanau Peninsula Wine, Food & Music Festival – Suttons Bay – July 21, 2012

We’re excited to announce we’re moving the Leelanau Peninsula Wine, Food & Music Festival to Suttons Bay and a new weekend this year!

The Annual Leelanau Peninsula Wine, Food & Music Festival will be held at Marina Park in Suttons Bay, Michigan on Saturday, July 21st. The event will feature16 wineries, 8 food vendors, one brewery and one hard cider vendor.

This year’s entertainment showcases the blues duo, Hipps n Ricco. Entrance is $15 per person which includes commemorative wine glass and two tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets are available for $2 each. Full bottle sales will be available and must either be consumed or disposed of on site.

Each Annual Wine Festival is planned by the Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.



We have great news! The blues duo, Hipps n Ricco, will be performing at this year’s festival in July!

A Weekend Celebration of Winter Fun

Traverse City is a four-season playground with fun activities year ‘round. And, there is no better time to enjoy winter fun than at Winter Wow!fest. Downtown will be alive with ice sculptures lining the streets in the Front St. district in the heart of Traverse City’s famed historic shopping district. Snow sculptures will be on display at the new Winter Wow!fest Celebration Central where the excitement will begin on Friday night with Winter, Wine and Wow! and continue all day on Saturday with non-stop events, family activities, music, food, beer and lots of fun! You won’t want to miss all the action!

Other venues for Winter Wow!fest activities includes the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa with their “Winter Fun Zone” for great family fun and the site for the spectacular winter fireworks display on Sunday night.

Mt. Holiday ski area is the site for some great downhill action with several events throughout the weekend. And, the Grand Traverse Civic Center will be the site for the crazy Winter Wow!fest co-ed snowball softball tournament.

Art Rapids! – June 30, 2012

Memorial Park, Elk Rapids, 10 am – 5 pm

A juried, fine-arts event in which selected artists will show, demonstrate and sell their work by Grand Traverse Bay in the heart of this charming harbor town, whose many galleries already attract an art-loving clientele the year around. Juried categories include oil/acrylic/tempera, watercolor, mixed media, drawings/pastel, sculpture, photography, jewelry, glass, and ceramic. Musical performances, artist demonstrations, and a kids’ art tent will complete the picture. The fair is held on the last Saturday of June.

A non-profit event to promote fine art and enhance Elk Rapids’ growing reputation as an art-focused community.

Proceeds will be used to enhance the arts and art education in the Elk Rapids area. Art Rapids! has established an art-focused school assistance program, as well as a scholarship program for Elk Rapids High School students.
