Capitalism: A Love Story – Premiere in Bellaire – September 19, 2009
Michael Moore, renowned director of the movie SiCKO, has chosen the village of Bellaire, Michigan, to host the US premiere of his new film, Capitalism: A Love Story. The premiere is a fundraiser for the Antrim County’s Democratic Party.
There will be wonderful brunch type food at the first Lulu’s party and delicious lunch type food at the second Lulu’s party.
The Shorts Brewing Co. party will feature 4 of their beers on tap (Your ticket will include one beer or soda. The rest will be cash bar) There will also be hardy appetizers with ice tea and water.

The Homestead – Water Color Painting Workshop with Tony Couch – September 14 to 18, 2009
The Glen Arbor Art Association sponsors Tony Couch’s Watercolor Painting Workshop from Monday September 14th to Friday, September 18th at Mountain Flowers Lodge at The Homestead.
This will be an immersive workshop with Tony doing a full sheet demonstration painting each morning, plenty of time for afternoon painting and a critique at the end of each day. He’ll unravel much of the mystery surrounding design, make color much simpler and show you how to make your paintings fresh and crisp. May students have said they have learned more in one day at a Tony Couch workshop than in four years of art school!
Tuition: $445 for the five days. Accommodations not included in tuition. Special accommodation prices are available at The Homestead.

Old Mission Peninsula Wine & Food Celebration – September 12, 2009
The Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula (WOMP) have teamed together with area restaurants for the third annual Old Mission Peninsula Wine & Food Celebration. The ticket includes a souvenir glass and wine tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets are available as well. Menu offerings will range in price from $3-$10.
