The Homestead – Salon Grand Opening & Block Party – September 3, 2011

Join us in The Village for an old-fashioned Block Party to celebrate the Grand Opening of our new Salon and our fully-redesigned General Store! Enjoy live entertainment by Chris Skellenger, free barbeque in Beppi’s Courtyard, face painting, chairlift rides to the top of beautiful Bay Mountain and rubber boat races. A cash bar will be open. Enjoy free vouchers for fitness assessments at New Leaf Health & Fitness and tours of the new salon (limited number of vouchers are available).

Special Events

  • 1:00pm – Awards Ceremony for Winners of the Name-the-Salon Contest. Prizes will be announced and the salon’s new name and logo will be unveiled.
  • 1:30pm – Kids Fun Run. Sprint distance races for different age groups at the base of Bay Mountain.
  • 12pm to 2pm – Cavanaugh’s Tasting Table. Sample the new offerings we are stocking, including our new specialty coffee roasts from Madcap Coffee and our expertly-curated new boutique wine selections.

Manitou Music Festival – Dune Climb Concert – 2022

After much consideration, the Glen Arbor Arts Center has decided to cancel the 2022 Dune Climb concert due to COVID-19.

Founded in 1991 by members of the Glen Arbor Arts Center, Manitou Music takes place in the pastoral splendor of Leelanau County, in the Northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

This “Land of Delight” has long attracted artists, writers, musicians, and vacationers with its dramatic settings of towering dunes, pure inland lakes, lush hardwood, and pine forests, and the majesty of Lake Michigan.
